Make Your Own Family Cookbook
Creating a family cookbook with Morris Press Cookbooks is a wonderful way to preserve and share your family's favorite recipes for generations to come. With 91 years of cookbook publishing expertise our process will ensure your family cookbook is a huge success! Here are the steps you can follow to create your own family cookbook:
1 Get Started
Request your FREE Cookbook Kit or create a FREE typensave® account and get started today. By using typensave to create your cookbook you can save 25¢ per book ($300 maximum).
2 Gather and sort family recipes
Next, decide which one of our 3 methods you will use for submission. If we typeset your recipes, reach out to family members, asking them to share their favorite recipes or collect recipes from previous family cookbooks. Once you have all your recipes, sort them into categories (custom or our 8 standard recipe categories) and place each category in an envelope or folder. If you use typensave, each recipe contributor will be able to easily enter their own recipes.
3 Choose a recipe format
We offer 10 beautiful FREE recipe formats and 1 discount format. You can make your cookbook truly unique by choosing from the many options that are available, including subcategories, fillers, and recipe notes.
4 Develop your personal pages
You will want to include family history, dedications, appreciation, poems or other special content on personal pages in the front of your cookbook. Four pages and one photo are FREE. Additional pages and photos may be added for an extra charge.
5 Choose a cover style and design
Morris Press Cookbooks offers 3 cover styles; softcover, hardback, and 3-Ring binder. Consider your budget and the number of recipes you have when selecting your cover style. We offer a wide variety of stock cover designs. To make your book truly an heirloom, consider using a designer series cover or make a complete custom cover using your own photos. Your cover design should reflect the style and personality of your family. 
6 Choose a divider set
Our stock divider designs and designer series dividers perfectly complement our stock covers and designer series covers. Complete custom dividers are another way to make your family cookbook one-of-a-kind.
7 Select cookbook extras
Enhance your family cookbook with cookbook extras, such as our FREE Full-Color Cooking Hints or Recipe Pocket Envelope to store original recipes in your cookbook.
8 Submit your order
If we are typesetting your recipes, place them, along with all other information we need to produce your cookbook, in a box or envelope and mail it to us. If you use typensave, you will submit your book online. Either way, you will receive a FREE proof before printing. This will allow you to make any final corrections before your cookbook is printed and shipped to you.
